The protagonist is the main character who must solve or attempt to solve the story's major conflict. At the beginning of The Giver, Jonas is apprehensive about the assignment he will be given. In his community, elders choose jobs for each citizen by the time they turn 12. If you were in Jonas's position, what job do you think would have been chosen for you? Why? Remember to write at least 5 sentences in a well-developed paragraph with a topic sentence, supporting sentences, and a concluding sentence.
If I was in Jonas's position, I would be a Sports Reporter. I think that I would be chosen for that job because I like to watch sports and I can see the strategies of the coaches and players. I would also be good for that job because I am good at explaining things to people who do not know the subject. Even though I would love to be a Sports Reporter, I do not think I could not be one for the rest of my life, like I would be required by the citizens of the Community .

If I was Jonas's position, I would want to be a professional NBA player. I would want to be a NBA player because I love the sport of basketball and I would be famous if I was successful. I would try to get taught by Micheal Jordan and Yao Ming. The Elders would see me play basketball every day and also see me as a tall Eleven. That is why I want to be a professional basketball player.

If I was the main character in the giver I would be a soccer soccer player. The elders would be like 'Wow boy you own.' Then I would say'of course I do.'And I would own. And it would be awesome.

ReplyDeleteI think would be a lawyer because I like to argue a lot and I dont let things go. I could probably get most people off for a murder, even if they obviously did it, if I accelerate to my full annoyance. Believe me, nobody knows about annoyng people beyond the point where they will do anyting to stop my talking, its me.
If i were the main character in The Giver my assignment would probably be a laborer because i dont like interacting with people. also i would enjoy being outside without much training because being a laborer is pretty straight forward

If I were The Chief Elder, I would assign Jonas the job of an astonomer. Why? Because he is smarter, and has the capacity to See Beyond. He would be interesed in that type of thing, and I would reccomend it among the Head Board. If I were watchng him and his abilities, I would consider that. Agree!

If I were in Johan's position, I would have been assigned to be a video game tester. I would have been picked for this job because I have hours of experience on many game systems. My experience gaming would help in this position because I am a gamer and I don't like getting off the playstation. A game tester would test games coming on the market to make sure they are good to go without glitches, cheats, or places in the firewall where the game can get hacked. Being a game tester is an important position because kids all around the world like playing video game.
ReplyDeleteI think that if I was in jonas's position I would of been assigned engineer because I really like math and science. I would invent another system of transportation for the community if the need to travel farther distances. Though they probably wouldn't need to use it but it would still help. Engineer is an important job because it will help the community in discovering how things work how to use them.

If i was in Jonas's position i would like to be a video game designer. I really like video games and i would like to make them. The things i like in video game are shooting and action. that is what i would do if i was in his position.
